Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for!
That’s obvious to any dog owner or person who has been around them for any extended amount of time. But even when we think we have them figured out, they go and surprise us all over again with their smarts and ingenuity! You know the saying “too smart for their own good”? That’s the most fitting way to describe them at times! 😀
In the video below, we have the perfect example of a dog who knows what’s going on around her but thinks she knows what’s best for her. It’s time for Lulu the Shiba Inu to go to the vet, and she’s well aware of this. Of course, she doesn’t want to go (I mean, what person likes going to the doctor?), so she does her best work at “playing dead.”
Maybe Mom will believe it and just let her be? That’s the hope anyway! It’s an old trick she’d learned long ago, but it just might be wearing thin at this point!
After many attempts to try and convince Lulu to get up and get moving and that everything will be okay, Mom realizes she’s in for a fight! So she brings out the big guns and resorts to the bag of treats. She didn’t want to have to do it, but she was left with no other choice. The dog may not realize it, but the vet is essential to her health and this is for the best! 🙂
