There was a young woman named Nina who had always liked feeling comfortable.

She chose what was familiar.
She stayed where she felt confident.
She avoided anything that made her feel unsure of herself.

For a long time, it worked.

Life felt easy. Predictable. Safe.

But slowly, something began to change.

The things that once excited her started to feel small. The routines she had mastered began to feel limiting. Opportunities appeared that required her to step into situations she wasn’t used to.

And with them came a feeling she didn’t like.

Discomfort.

When she spoke up in new spaces, her voice felt shaky.
When she tried something unfamiliar, she felt clumsy.
When she stepped outside her comfort zone, she questioned herself constantly.

“This doesn’t feel right,” she thought. “Maybe I’m not meant for this.”

One afternoon, she visited her grandmother and shared her frustration.

“I feel out of place,” Nina admitted. “Like I don’t belong where I’m trying to go.”

Her grandmother smiled gently and said, “Do you remember when you outgrew your favorite shoes as a child?”

Nina laughed softly. “Yes. They became tight and uncomfortable.”

“And did that mean the shoes were bad?” her grandmother asked.

“No,” Nina replied. “It just meant I had grown.”

Her grandmother nodded. “Sometimes, life feels uncomfortable for the same reason.”

Those words stayed with Nina.

She realized that the discomfort she felt wasn’t a sign she was doing something wrong.

It was a sign she was stretching.

Learning. Expanding.

Becoming someone new.

From that day on, Nina stopped running from discomfort.

She embraced it, not because it felt good, but because she understood what it meant.

Because growth rarely feels smooth or easy.

It feels awkward.
It feels uncertain.
It feels like you’re stepping into something you haven’t mastered yet.

But that’s exactly where change happens.

And sometimes, the very feeling you want to avoid…
is the one leading you to who you’re meant to become. 💛
