2. Old gaming systems and games
Do you have your kids’ old Sega or Nintendo console sitting around collecting dust? Your retro trash (for lack of a better word) is another person’s 8-bit treasure! In fact, a quick search on Facebook Marketplace shows old Sega Genesis models selling for $85+. Cha-ching!
3. Rare Books
If you are anything like my husband and me, you have amassed an impressive book collection over your lifetime. Take a little time to through it, as first editions or titles from renowned authors can bring in a pretty penny. (Sometimes, it isn’t just rare books, as garage sale-ers also love buying books by the box or bundle.)

Tennis rackets, rollerskates, yard games… If you have them, put them out, as these are known to sell well at many garage sales.

Childhood toys and games can bring in serious cash, especially if they’re in good condition or still in their original packaging. Don’t underestimate the power of nostalgia!

4. Present Your Items Well
Cleanliness and presentation can significantly increase the perceived value of an item. Clean your items, present them well, and organize your sale area to make it inviting.
5. Offer Bulk Discounts
For items that might not be as valuable (like the previously mentioned books), consider offering bulk discounts, which can often encourage buyers to pick up a few more things.
6. Have Change Ready
Ensure you have plenty of change available in various denominations. In this day and age, it is also beneficial to consider contactless payment options, such as digital wallets.
