One thing I don’t really miss from my motherhood days were the doctor’s appointments! Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved every bit of caring for my kids, and I would definitely do it all over again in a heartbeat. But I can’t say I miss the stress that came with those trips to the doctor’s office, especially when it came to one of my kids who absolutely hated the doctor! She was the type to throw a tantrum at the mere mention of it. And let me tell you, it wasn’t just a little fuss—it was full-on, drama-filled protests that made the entire experience something to dread. Some days, it would take up to 2 or 3 nurses just to hold her down long enough for her to get her shots. It was such a challenge, and we had to be patient with her.
But here’s the thing—despite all the drama, we can laugh about it now. Time does have a way of making those tough moments feel like funny memories. I often find myself shaking my head, thinking about how much energy we all spent trying to get through those appointments, and now it’s all a story to tell.
What I wouldn’t have given, though, to have had a doctor like the one in today’s video! He seems to really know what he’s doing. The way he distracts the little baby in the video—oh my, it’s brilliant! He hums a fun tune and does all sorts of little tricks to keep the baby entertained while he manages to sneak in the shot without the little one even noticing. It’s such a smooth and clever approach. I can only imagine how much less stressful it would have been for me and my child if we had a doctor like that back in the day. Wouldn’t that have been something?
