There’s nothing as precious in this world as those little babies. First, it’s your own kids changing your life in the best way possible. And then, if you’re lucky enough, you get grandchildren to show you a whole other side to this life! It’s why their health and well-being becomes your top priority from the beginning…

So anytime there’s a concern in the hospital room right after birth, it’s a scary thing. In the video below, the new parents learned their little boy, Jazz, was born with Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 is a chromosomal condition that causes many health conditions, including unstable airways, brain abnormalities, and cardiac issues. And after nearly 500 days in the hospital, Jazz defied all the odds to stay alive.

But even after all of that, it was said the little boy would likely never understand emotion or ever smile. Doctors said he’d basically be a vegetable. But it was one TV show that came across the screen in Jazz’s room that would change everything…

When the baby saw The Golden Girls, he started grinning from ear-to-ear! It was an absolute miracle. His mom thinks the sound of the old ladies’ voices and the low-fi colors on the screen resonated with him. That was the starting point, and now Jazz is smiling all the time! Can you believe it? 🙂
