I’m sure most of us can relate here. We love nothing more about our home spaces than turning them into the visions we have in our heads. And a lot of that starts with curb appeal and the gardening/landscaping! Not only does it look nice, it’s a very good hobby to get into and something that can keep you busy for as long as you want it to. And when this grandmother named Karen moved into her new house, she had her work cut out for her…

Karen Brooke, 67, bought a $340,000 three-bedroom bungalow on Forest Avenue, in Goostrey, Cheshire, but the yard needed a lot of work to become the beautiful oasis she knew it could be. So she got to work on the overgrown jungle and made it a point to create the space to her liking on a budget. And it’s great! 😀

This savvy grandmother started upcycling as many materials as possible as well as scouring social media and local sales for the items she needed. In total, she ended up saving well over $6,000 on the project according to her own calculations!

And she attributes most of her success on this project to the purchase of a tiller. After she took all of the weeds down to ground level with a hedge trimmer, she went to the store to get the tiller because physically digging it all by hand would’ve been impossible. And with lots of love and lots of care, she now has this stunning outdoor space to take pride in, and I’m in love with it! <3
